My 2014 training at Makeup Designory in Ghent was a valuable investment for me in pursuing my passion for makeup professionally. From there, my adventure began.
With the help of numerous people, I've built my core business in the specialized field of bodybuilding competitions. As a professional Stage Makeup Artist, I listen and understand what you need. Do you need a quiet moment on this hectic, important day, or would you like to talk openly about your prep and the lead-up to your first or umpteenth competition? The moment of makeup and hairstyling should feel like your moment. Your moment of peace. With a passion for the craft, the best products, and the utmost precision, I want you to shine.
If I no longer have room for your upcoming competition, I would be happy to make time to give you an extensive workshop.
This workshop lasts about 2.5 hours and is supplemented with products that are indispensable to make your stage look stage-proof.
I hope you'll experience a "WOW" feeling here when you see some of the looks I've created for so many beautiful athletes. Grateful for all the requests I've received so far, I look forward to discussing what you feel comfortable with.
Besides stage makeup, I also offer beauty, photoshoot, and/or bridal makeup services. I'm happy to supplement these services with workshops to help you get started with your daily makeup routine.

Stage Make-up
Why can't you go on that stage with regular beauty makeup or a heavier smokey eye look?
On stage, very bright/strong lighting is used. For example, for a bodybuilding competition, an athlete's body is made very dark using spray tanning. This dark tan strongly accentuates the muscles, resulting in a more beautiful, defined, and fuller complexion. The face is not tanned, but rather covered in heavy makeup to give it volume, definition, and depth. Otherwise, your face will be "overexposed."
My MonicaStageMakeup look uses a special technique that ensures makeup stays put from early morning until well into the night. I spend an average of 60 minutes on your look, using high-quality foundations, bold contouring and highlighting, reusable false lashes, and matching/superstay lipstick, including a lip kit. Whether you're a beginner who already feels stressed at the word "contouring," or you're familiar with the basics of makeup, this workshop is completely tailored to your needs. We offer Basic Training and Monica Stage Makeup Training.
What does Basic Training entail?
- I first analyze your facial shape and skin color/type
- We will upgrade (without any obligation) your current make-up kit (please also bring your own make-up including brushes, however extensive or limited this may be)
- We take a photo beforehand
- We'll get started with the right products and learn the benefits of a touch of makeup. Tailored to your personality and what you feel comfortable with. With the help of a FaceShart.
- By learning the techniques of light and shadow, we highlight your most beautiful features
- We conclude with a professional 'after photo'
- So that you can go home with confidence afterwards and practice yourself using your personal FaceShart with the 'after photo'
What does the Monica Stage Make-up training entail?
- We'll upgrade your current makeup kit (completely optional) (bring your own makeup kit, including brushes, however extensive or limited it may be) and add the necessary products. (If booking online, this will be arranged in advance.)
- We take a photo in advance (not applicable if online training)
- We'll get started with the correct technique (note: this is a real 'drag queen' makeup look).
- Here too, I will teach you, through my special techniques, how to highlight the most beautiful parts of your face, taking into account the challenges 'on-stage'
- We conclude with a professional 'after photo' (not applicable if online training)
- So that you can go home with confidence afterwards and practice yourself using your personal FaceShart with the 'after photo'
